At the October 2006 meeting of the Historical Society the treasurer’s report was given by Judy Scrupps. Checking account balance was $2543.94 and savings was $11326.74. The recent membership drive resulted in a membership of 59 families and businesses and donations of $2200. The name of Don Walter will be added to the gold member plaque. The Avista bill is now autopay.
In old business Judy has given information and samples of archival storage bags to Florence for her inspection. Delores Cook reported the number of visitations to the museum this past summer seems to have decreased.
New business: In preparing for the Deutsches Fest bake sale, Barb Schlimmer will send out postcards requesting donations of goods, Florence Schlimmer is compiling the workers list, and Judy will assemble a cash box.
Clean-up day will be Monday September 11 at 9 a.m.
The family of Bill Frederick has donated the following equipment: a Royal road grader, a John Deere duck foot cultivator, and a Papec forage grinder. The three pieces will be brought to town in time for Fest.
President Pat Gies will check with Eddie Kern on a parade vehicle, and ask OTC and Walter Implement to display their machinery at the museum following the parade. He will also check with chamber on the shuttle bus and put up the bake sale signs.
Judy volunteered to make any new display signs that are needed.
In the St. Matthews report Delores said she and Del have completed cleanup of the grounds and Del trimmed the walnut tree. Del gave a key for the facility to the city clerks office since they did not have one. There is $1325.62 in the checking account. The quilt club will display antique quilts there during Fest.
Jennell Branson has offered to donate a threshing machine. Pat told him to bring it in and we could park it under the barn canopy.
