We read the story about your Deutschesfest celebration in the Spokesman Review.

We have been trying to attend for over 30 years but something always came up at the last minute to spoil our plans.

We are going to make it this year.

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Happy Deutschesfest to my favorite little town on Earth! Today would have been my Grandpa Arthur Jeske's 93rd birthday.

Have some cabbage rolls for me!

Our Dad grew up in Odessa and we have come to celebrate many times. This year will be very special, since he past away 2 weeks ago. We will be coming this year to celebrate his life, and all the memories, food, beer and fun! We love you Dad! Here's to the Weis family, what a great family!

Ed and Darnell actually met at the Deutschesfest 21 years ago in the Biergarten! We dated for a year and then got married and have been married for 20 years now. We go back to Odessa every year for the Deutschesfest!! We love meeting new people in the Biergarten and eating all the good German food....See you there!!!

I heard about Deutschesfest though clippings from your local newspaper. A friend sent them to me while I was working in Heidelberg, Germany, for 31 years, as a weekly newspaper editor.
Now I'm back home (I grew up in Puyallup), and hoping to make it to Deutschesfest one of this years -- maybe even this year. Want to sample some good Wursts and beer, and listen to some fine polka music. And figure out what a Kraut Ranza is, as I don't this we had these in the region of Germany where I worked.
Und hoffentlich gibt es noch e Paar Leit, die noch e Bissel Deitsch schwaetze koenne.
Alle gute (best wishes),

Many a good memory in lil' Odessa...from family gatherings at Gma Lil's complete with kraut and cabbage rolls, the bowling alley, gun club, football games, dances, swimming pool, golf, TONS of relatives (anyone from or near Odessa can relate), the biergarten - you never know what or WHO you will see there?? (last time I was in there was for a Bachelorette party wink and yes the Bride-to-be ended up with the chicken prize! roll eyes (sarcastic) Go figure!! lol) Lots of friendly people with smiling faces. Plenty to do for a small town, so come and check it out for yourself and bring a friend or two. You can bet there will be loads of fun again this year! See ya there. wave
